Timber flooring and your Wembley kitchen renovation
A new kitchen is one of the most common renovations in Wembley’s post-war homes, and the floor is closely tied to it. Should the timber go down before the cabinets or after? Timber flooring in Wembley kitchen renovations works best when it’s planned with your cabinet maker.
Laying the floor first, under the cabinets, gives a continuous surface and makes future kitchen changes easier – but it uses more material and needs protecting during the build. Fitting the floor around the cabinets uses less timber but needs neat edges at the kickboards. With floating engineered floors, cabinet weight and expansion gaps also need to be considered.
We’ll talk through the options with you and your kitchen maker and fit the flooring into the build at the right time.
