Jarrah floor sanding for Serpentine’s rural homes

Farmhouse jarrah floor sanded in Serpentine

Serpentine sits in jarrah country. The Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale’s timber history runs deep, and many older farmhouses here were built with local jarrah floors. Floor sanding in Serpentine brings that timber back to its rich red-brown colour.

Rural homes often have big floor areas, older boards and a few repairs from over the years. We secure loose boards, replace damaged ones, sand, fill and polish with a hard-wearing finish suited to country living. Newer acreage homes with engineered or solid timber can be recoated or sanded as needed.

Because Serpentine is outside the metro area, we plan these jobs in advance so the full sanding and coating schedule runs smoothly.

How we sand Serpentine floors

Larger rural jobs are planned in advance so each stage runs on time.

  1. Assess the floor

Is it a recoat or a full sand? We check the wear and tell you honestly.

  2. Prepare and protect

Furniture out, nails set, doorways and joinery protected from dust.

  3. Sanding passes

Coarse, medium and fine grits flatten the floor and take it back to fresh timber.

  4. Finish the detail

Edges, corners and thresholds sanded, then the floor is filled and fine-sanded.

  5. Seal and polish

Finish coats are applied and left to cure so the floor is tough and easy to clean.
